I found a San Francisco literary agency that was looking for humor book submissions. I pitched them the idea of compiling all twenty-four issues of The Plug and sent them a lengthy sample chapter. They responded by saying the material was “indeed very funny,” but that it wasn't a “close match” for the type of humor books that they represent, which I can only assume are unfunny humor books. Perhaps about cancer. Or maybe with punch lines like, “Let's watch Boys Don't Cry , then have sex.
